Lessons We offer music lessons Monday thru Saturday. Our private lessons start at $20.00 per half hour, and are held on store premises. Lessons are scheduled once a week on the same day and time.  Instruments Taught: Guitar, Banjo Musical Styles Taught: Specializing in Metal and Progressive. Also teaches Jazz, Blues, Pop/Rock, and Music Theory. Age/Skill levels taught: 7+, Beginner through Advanced. Approach to teaching: I take an individual approach with each student. Typically, I like to have students pick several of their favorite songs to learn, I then teach them the applicable chords and scales for each song as we learn them. Alternately, for a more "standard" approach to teaching, I like to start with basic chords and scales. I then add in basic music theory concepts such as musical keys, chord construction, and the circle of fifths. Favorite Musical Groups/Bands: Tool, Metallica, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Five Finger Death Punch, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Meshuggah, A Perfect Circle, Opeth, In Flames, Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Queens Of The Stone Age, Muse, Trivium, UnderOath, Alice In Chains, and Nine Inch Nails. Also performed with YELLOW SUNSHINE, and Nate Murray's Band. Approach to teaching: "I start with an emphasis on the student becoming comfortable with their instrument, followed by giving them a firm foundation in basic music theory.
